KIDS CRAFT MARKET

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring a Kids Craft Market on Saturday, May 18 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm in the Courtcircle.  Youth ages 18 and under rent a booth to sell their crafts/art.  The fee for each 10x10 space is $25 and the deadline to register is Wednesday, May 1st.  If space is still available after May 1st, there will be a $10 late fee.

SENIOR YOGA WITH AELA - New

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring Senior Yoga on Wednesdays, June 5-July 31, from 10:30-11:30 am in the Stewart Building.  This is a chair yoga class.  Registration fee is $65 and the deadline is Wednesday, May 29th.

FLOOR YOGA WITH AELA - New

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring Floor Yoga for ages 16 and older on Mondays, June 3-July 22 from 5:30-6:30 in the Stewart Building.  For all levels.  Bring a mat and water.  Registration fee is $65 and the deadline to register is Monday, May 27th.

BEAVERDAM THURSDAY THOUGHTS

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring talks in the amphitheater at Beaverdam Park on the 2nd Thursday of the month.  The May talk, May 9th from 6:30-7:30 pm, is about Bees and Pollinators.  Gloucester is an official Bee City, join us to find out more about our local efforts to help protect Bees and Pollinators.  The program is free but registration is required, deadline Thursday, May 2nd.

ADULT CO-REC SOFTBALL SUMMER LEAGUE

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring a Summer Corec Softball league for ages 15 and older at Ark Park.  Teams field 5 men and 5 women.  Games are scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm every Sunday from June 2 through august 4.  Team fee is $650 and the deadline to register is Sunday, May 5th.

INTERNATIONAL CUISINE CULINARY CLUB - New

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring the International Cuisine Culinary Club for age 16 and older on Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 pm, June 5-July 31 at the Stewart Building.  You will explore international cuisine, characteristic cooking practices and traditions.  German, French, Italian, Turkish, Indian, Thai and Mexican to name a few.  The fee is $105 and the deadline to register is Wednesday, May 29th.

BEST YEARS TRIP HENRICUS

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring to Henricus on Wednesday, May 15 from 8:45 am -3:30 pm.  We will tour Henricus and stop on the way home for lunch, on your own.  The fee is $45 and the deadline is Wednesday, May 8th.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring a  Women’s Basketball League for ages 18 and older.  Play from 5:00 to 7:30 pm every Thursday from June 6 through August 1 at the Ark Park Basketball Court.  The fee is $15 per person and the deadline to register is Sunday, May 26th.

 

SPECIALTY INSTRUCTORS

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is seeking individuals that are interested in teaching classes for youth or adults.  Dance, gymnastics, yoga, exercise, crafts, arts, games, knitting, carving, and just about anything else you are interested in sharing.  Visit the county’s webpage and look for job opportunities, all applications must be online.
