Yorktown's Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival

Online ticket sales have resumed for Yorktown’s Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival at www.villageevents.org. Originally scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, but postponed to adhere with Governor Northam’s “Temporary Stay at Home” order and ban of gatherings of 10 or more people, the event has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 9th. The time of 12 to 6 p.m. will remain the same. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.

Attendees can sample more than 30 different craft beers, dig into some amazing BBQ, and listen to some of the best Blues musicians in Hampton Roads.  At 12:30, Bobby BlackHat Blues Blast with Special Guests, will deliver blends and influences of Chicago, Memphis, Piedmont, and Delta style blues along with a little Gospel into a toe tappin’, finger poppin’ hip shakin’ blues experience. Then, at 3:30, the Michael Clark Band will take the mic to blend R&B, Blues, Soul, Tock, Jazz and Funk.

Based on current pandemic conditions, event organizers are making several adjustments to minimize contact points and to help ensure public health safety. All staff members with direct customer contact will wear masks and each person will have his/her temperature taken before beginning work. There will be increased space between vendors, a limit to the number of ticket sales for the event, frequent disinfectant in higher traffic areas, no food sampling, and sanitizing stations placed throughout the festival.

The event is presented by Village Events.  A special thanks to this year’s sponsors: York County, State Farm Agent Mark Irwin, Water Street Grille, and Atlantic Union Bank. Proceeds Benefit the York Foundation for Public Education.
