'Heated Rivalry,' but make it platonic: Michael Bublé & Drew Scott team for Canadian hockey show

It's a show about two guys and Canadian hockey, but it's family-friendly.

Michael Bublé and his pal Drew Scott of the show Property Brothers will be the stars of a new Prime Video series called Hometown Giants. The two stars are minority owners of the Vancouver Giants, a major junior hockey league featuring players ages 16-20, which serves as a talent pool for the NHL.

The six-episode series will follow the young players as they face "constant pressure, sacrifice and life-changing decisions." It will debut this fall.

According to Northeast Now, the first episode finds Michael and Drew calling their pal and fellow Canadian, Ryan Reynolds, for advice about buying into the struggling Giants. Ryan went through a similar experience when he purchased a Welsh soccer team for his docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham. Michael said Ryan's reaction was: "What are you doing, idiots? You know what you’re getting into?”

“All Canadian celebrities, they buy a sports team, that’s just what we do," Michael continued. "His advice was, ‘Don’t do it.'”

Olivia Dean ties Alex Warren for UK chart record thanks to Sam Fender duet

Olivia Dean's duet with Sam Fender, "Rein Me In" — which just made Spotify's list of "songs of the summer" contenders — has tied a chart record set last year by Alex Warren.

The song has notched a 13th week at #1 on the U.K.'s Official Singles Chart. As per Billboard, "Reign Me In" is now tied with Alex's "Ordinary" as the longest-running song of the 2020s. Until Alex broke it in 2025, the previous record was 11 weeks, held by Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits."

"Rein Me In" is a song that Sam originally recorded for his album People Watching. It was then released as a remix with Olivia singing on it; the two have also performed the song live onstage together.

So far, "Rein Me In" has yet to have the same success in the U.S. But Olivia is doing just fine on her own, with two massive hits: "Man I Need" and "So Easy (To Fall in Love)." She brings her The Art of Loving tour to the U.S. July 10 in San Francisco.

Madonna reveals her 'best' lover was this late icon

Madonna (Rafael Pavarotti)

Madonna's romantic life is the stuff of legend, but she's willing to name one of her past lovers as being the "best" — with one important caveat.

The Queen of Pop sat for a short video NSFW conversation with several gay friends for the LGBTQ+ dating app Grindr, including her former opening act Bob the Drag Queen, designer Raul Lopez and playwright Jeremy O. Harris. During the conversation, Madonna was asked who her best lover was — except the word "lover" was not used, if you know what we mean.

"Oh my God," Madonna says. "I'm gonna only name dead people." She then whispers, "John Kennedy Jr."

Raul Lopez notes that "everyone says" the late attorney and publisher, who died in 1999, was good in bed, adding that Madonna is "the third person" to say that, as she nods in agreement.

Madonna also reveals that her "post-coital room service order" is a club sandwich, her "sex playlist" is mostly classical music, and that she feels the "Mother" nickname given to her by the LGBTQ+ community has a lot to do with being "protective."

"When I first came to New York and started seeing — especially at the beginning at the AIDS epidemic, I saw how s*** people were to gays, and that's all I wanted to do is take care of them and fight for them and give them courage," she says. "When I was coming up, they were my ride-or-dies. I didn't feel judged by them."

To which Bob the Drag Queen replies, "That's impressive, to not be judged by the judgiest group in the world!"

Olivia Rodrigo addresses rumors of Taylor Swift feud: 'It was so long ago'

Olivia Rodrigo performs at the Disney Advertising Upfront, May 12, 2026 in New York City. (Disney/Michael Le Brecht II)

Following the release of her debut album, SOUR, Olivia Rodrigo retroactively credited Taylor Swift as a songwriter on the song "deja vu" because it sounded similar to Taylor's hit "Cruel Summer." That led to rumors of a yearslong feud between the two artists, which led to speculation that they'd buried the hatchet in April, when they were spotted at the same concert. Olivia's addressing the topic in a new episode of The New York Times' Popcast.

The interviewer asks Olivia, "Is there a frost between you and Taylor? Like, is that something that hovers over your mind? [Or] is it something that you think is a construction of the people who are doing internet detective work? How do you view that, now that you're a few years removed from the initial ... ruptures?"

Olivia sighs heavily, and then says, "Um, I don’t know. I think I try to not let it get to me or upset me. I think I just try to keep it truckin’. I think there's no — it was so long ago, there’s no use in harping on it."

"I just try to make songs that I love and try to be kind and good to other people and supportive of other people," she continues. "And I've always, like, tried to be like that. And at the end of the day, I think that’s all you can do.”

As for online "internet detectives" speculating about that and other aspects of her life, Olivia says, "I think it, like, comes with the territory and it's par for the course. And I think if I dove into every internet detective sleuth that, like, got things right or wrong about my life or any of my relationships, I think I'd just go crazy. Like, there's not enough time in the day."

Ariana Grande, 'hate that i made you love me' (Katia Temkin)

Ariana Grande's new era has officially started.

The first single from her upcoming album, petal, is called "hate that i made you love me," and is out now. While the song could be addressed to a romantic partner, it could also be aimed at haters, the public in general, or fans who have parasocial relationships with her.

"I've held your projections when you've felt so insecure/ Tell me, why is it this way?/ Why you so hate to see women endure?" she sings. "Is it really my fault you all gave me your hearts of your own accord?/ I don't really think so."

Play me your favorite song: Corinne Bailey Rae's ready to launch 20th anniversary tour

Corinne Bailey Rae (Ulrike Rindermann)

Corinne Bailey Rae launches a tour Friday in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her 2006 self-titled debut album, which spawned the hit "Put Your Records On" and earned her four Grammy nominations. As Corinne told ABC Audio, she wanted to mark the milestone because that album everything for her.

"Going from playing in a bar to a hundred people to sort of getting a phone call from Stevie Wonder, or Prince coming to our show, or Elton John sending me champagne," she recalls. "Those things — really that song in particular, 'Put Your Records On' — and the popularity of that record, it really changed my life and my work."

"And so I knew the anniversary was coming but I wanted to do something special for it," she adds.

As for the set list, Corrine says she plans to play the album in its entirety, adding, "We'll maybe do like a catch-up on the end, and I'll probably say, 'If you have to leave for your babysitter, that's fine. But we're also gonna play a what you might have missed kind of thing.'"

Some parents, however, won't have to worry about babysitters because they're bringing their children along. According to Corrine, "Put Your Records On" has found a whole new generation of listeners.

"I'm so grateful for that," she says, adding that she's "so moved" that there are 7- and 9-year olds in the audience even if they don't always make it through the whole show.

"You definitely have a lot of lovely sweet kids on the front row who are just nodding off by the time you get to 'Put Your Records On,'" she says. "And their mum's, like, poking them: 'This is why you came!' And sometimes they wake up and sometimes they don't."

One of Taylor Swift's opening acts confirms she's going to Taylor's wedding

People who you'd assume would be invited to Taylor Swift's wedding have been cagey about whether or not they're actually attending. Talk show host Graham Norton has joked that he had to sign an NDA, for example, and Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he'd "probably" been invited and would go "if I don't outgrow my tuxedo." But now we've got our first case of a celebrity confirming that she's actually attending the nuptials.

Model, actress and singer Suki Waterhouse, who opened for Taylor during the Eras Tour in London, tells Variety, "I’m gonna go to Taylor’s wedding, and maybe I’ll get some inspiration. It will be amazing.” Suki was talking about her own wedding to her partner, Robert Pattinson. The two share a 2-year-old daughter.

Sadly, Suki didn't reveal where and when the wedding is taking place. But she did say of Taylor, "Knowing her as a friend, she’s actually been through so much. And I think the thing I always see in her is how she pulls herself through every time, and how everything that’s ever happened to her becomes another piece of art that becomes part of the legacy. That’s so inspiring — that’s the artist that you want to be.”

Suki's third album, Loveland, comes out July 10. Her collaborators include Taylor's frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner and legendary Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood. Suki starred in Daisy Jones & the Six, the Prime Video series about a band loosely based on Fleetwood Mac.

Barry Manilow addresses whether he's had 'work done': 'I'm as vain as anybody else'

Barry Manilow, 'What A Time.' (STILETTO Entertainment)

Barry Manilow will be 83 in June, and he still looks pretty good, but he admits that he's had some help in that department — sort of.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times to promote his new album, What a Time, Barry says, "I look fantastic, but I'm a hundred years old, right? I don't know how that happened, by the way — I don't get Botox or anything."

When the interviewer asks him directly, "You've had no work done?" Barry responds, "No!" but then continues, "I must say: There was one time when we lived in LA that I did do a facelift. But after that it's just been a little here, a little there."

When the interviewer protests that that's not exactly having "no work done," Barry argues, "'Work' is like a facelift, and I only had one of those. The rest of it — I see something falling down, sure, I'll do that. I'm as vain as anybody else."

Elsewhere in the interview, Barry, who's had to postpone a number of concerts while he recovers from lung cancer surgery, says it's been "agony" being off the road.

"Make an album, go on the road, come back, make an album, go on the road — that's what my life's been for years," he says. "And I like it. Now I just have to get better and do what the doctors are telling me. It's the only way out."

Despite rumors, filmmakers say Taylor Swift hasn't done the end title song for 'Toy Story 5'

Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) in 'Toy Story 5.' (Pixar)

The filmmakers behind Toy Story 5 are shooting down rumors that Taylor Swift has written the movie's end title song.

On April 30, Taylor posted — and then removed — a countdown on her website that seemed to be Toy Story-coded. It featured blue skies, white clouds and the same shade of yellow used in the franchise's branding.

When fans noticed that Toy Story 5's release date, June 19, also marks the 20th anniversary of her debut single, rumors flew that Taylor was somehow involved in the franchise's latest installment.

But in a new interview, Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton says of the rumors, "It surprised us. We'd be frickin' honored." Producer Lindsey Collins adds that having Taylor involved would "be pretty amazing."

"The sad truth is, we watched the movie being mixed last week, done, and the song on the end of that was not Taylor Swift's song," Stanton clarifies.

Of course, that doesn't preclude the movie from featuring a Taylor tune somewhere, since he specifically said "the song on the end." Guess we'll have to wait until June 19 to find out.

The mystery of the disappearing countdown, however, has yet to be explained.

Report: Authorized TV series about Céline Dion's family in the works

Céline Dion's forthcoming Paris residency has put her back in the spotlight, and now a TV drama about her formative years is in the works.

Deadline reports that the movie's working title is Growing Up Dion, and it has the support of Céline's family: Her brother Jacques Dion is producing it, and it's based on the book Dion, A Family Saga, written by her nephew Jimmy Dion.

The movie will cover Céline's childhood in Quebec and focus on the dynamics of the family: She was one of 14 children and had a close bond with her late mother, Thérèse Dion.

Deadline quotes Jacques Dion as saying, "This series represents something deeply meaningful for our family, as it captures the spirit, struggles, and love that defined our upbringing. We are proud to finally share this story with the world in a way that feels true to who we are.”

There is no word yet on casting. There have been two films about Céline; one of them, Aline, was a comedy loosely based on her life. The Tony-nominated Broadway musical Titanique also features a character named after and based on Céline.

Joe Jonas reveals he 'crashed and burned' while auditioning for 'The Morning Show'

Joe Jonas attends the world premiere of 'A Very Jonas Christmas Movie' at the New York City Center, November 10, 2025 (Disney/Jose Alvarado Jr.)

When they're not doing music stuff as Jonas Brothers, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas also act. But just because they're famous doesn't mean they get every part they go up for. In the latest episode of the brothers' podcast, Hey Jonas!, Joe recalls the time he blew an audition for an Emmy-winning Apple TV series.

Explaining why being early doesn't always work out, Joe told a story about auditioning for The Morning Show; specifically, for the role of a news anchor who'd be a love interest for one of the show's stars, Jennifer Aniston. Joe showed up early, so they put him in a private room. But that meant that while he was waiting his turn, he could hear all the other actors auditioning "clear as day" and got intimidated.

"These guys were crushing it," Joe recalled. "I didn't bring headphones so I'm just like literally sitting in silence, reading the lines ... and I go in and I just, like, crash and burn." It seems he made the mistake of saying he didn't need a script, then proceeded to forget all his lines.

When Nick asked him if that was his "worst" audition, Joe mentioned that something similar happened when he tried out for the part of Fiyero in the Wicked movies.

"There were, like, incredible theater vocalists I could hear, clear as day," Joe recalled. He didn't get that part either.

Nick then shared that he blew an audition when he met with the director, and asked him who was directing the movie. And Kevin Jonas revealed that when they were younger, he was told to his face, "I can clearly tell you don't have any acting experience."

Good thing they'll always have music to fall back on.

Music notes: Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and more

Ariana Grande has announced that the video for her new single, "hate that i made you love me," will be out Monday at 11 a.m. ET. She's posted a snippet of her riding in the back seat of a car, driven by a desperate-looking guy. Just as the video ends, we hear her sing one word of the song: "I."  The song itself drops Friday.

In other Ariana Grande news, her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo tells Variety that during the seemingly endless press tours for the two films, “I think that people didn’t really believe that we were actually friends. But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m a friend, then I’m a friend." According to Cynthia, she and Ari still text "almost every day."

For the eighth time in 11 years, Ed Sheeran is the most-played artist across radio, TV and public places in the U.K. According to PPL, which licenses the use of recorded music in that country, Ed's songs are played an average of 574 times per day, or 24 times per hour.

In her song "Adult Size Medium," Hilary Duff sings, "Was it a sip of wine or Aperol?" So it's not surprising that the orange apéritif is now an official sponsor of her upcoming lucky me tour. That means there will be Aperol Spritz Day Club pre-show experiences at select tour venues, bars and restaurants in cities Hilary visits. Plus, fans in select cities who are 21 and over can enter to win tickets to the show by registering at aperolsharethemoment.com.

BLACKPINK's dance video for "How You Like That" has hit 2 billion views; it's their third video to hit that milestone, following "Kill This Love” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”

Madonna describes the 'most respectful way' to listen to new album, 'Confessions II'

Madonna, 'Confessions II,' (Warner Records)

Madonna wrote on Instagram Wednesday of her new album, "Confessions II is a love letter to dance music and to all the spaces and communities that create it or enjoy it. The dance floor isn’t about a specific space or building, it’s wherever we gather to dance, celebrate and connect." But in the same post, she recommends that when listening to the album, people not gather together.

To promote the album, Madonna has teamed with Bilt.com, which helps members earn rewards based on their monthly housing payments. In a video to promote the partnership, Madonna is asked to describe the "ideal way" fans should listen to Confessions II

"By yourself, with nobody around and no distractions, from start to finish," she replies. "That's the most respectful way to listen to the album."

As part of her Bilt partnership, Madonna is offering Bilt members a version of the album with exclusive artwork. But perhaps the most interesting aspect of the partnership is that Bilt is paying one month of studio rent for every musician who is currently leasing space at The Music Building, a rehearsal space in midtown Manhattan where Madonna lived when she was a struggling artist with no money.

She says in a statement, "As much as I struggled when I showed up here with nothing, I look back very fondly on this time in my life. The creativity, diversity and community of artists all supporting each other while having the freedom to experiment is something I would have never experienced in another place.”

Members will also have a chance to win rent payments of up to $2,500.

Taylor Swift sends guitars to little girl and her musician neighbor following viral TikTok

You never know when Taylor Swift will see your Taylor Swift-centric content. That's what parents in Ohio experienced after a TikTok video featuring their young daughter and one of their neighbors went viral.

In the TikTok, an 8-year-old girl named Madeline hears her musician neighbor playing guitar on his porch. She writes him a note on a paper airplane requesting that he play a Taylor Swift song and throws it into his yard. After the girl's stepfather alerts the neighbor, Ethan Hayes, to the request, he plays "Love Story" as the little girl sings along while watching from her window.

The video quickly racked up millions of views — including one from Taylor.

As People reports, Taylor sent Madeline a guitar and a handwritten note, in which she told Madeline that she "brought the biggest smile to my face" with her request. She added, "I'm sending you your own guitar in case you ever want to learn too!"

Meanwhile, Taylor's team contacted Ethan and told him a gift was headed his way, as well.

“They're like, 'Hey, Taylor saw your video. We want to send you something. Don't tell anyone until it gets there,'" Ethan told People. "I was expecting maybe a signed poster or something. And then she sent us guitars, which is insane.”

After they finish there on Aug. 29, they'll take a brief break before heading to Germany for their residency in Dusseldorf, which runs from Sept. 25 through Oct. 7.

Lady Gaga sets touring record with The MAYHEM Ball

Lady Gaga, The Mayhem Ball (Courtesy Live Nation)

Lady Gaga's MAYHEM Ball tour out-earned everyone else for the first half of the year.

That's according to Billboard Boxscore, which tracks concert earnings. In the publication's midyear Top Tours chart — which covers Oct. 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026 — Gaga ranked #1, taking in just over $236 million and selling 1.2 million tickets.

According to Billboard, that's the biggest midyear gross in the history of Boxscore, which dates back to 1991. The previous record was held by U2, who grabbed just under $231 million from their shows at Sphere Las Vegas two years ago. But as the publication notes, U2 earned that much because their Sphere tickets averaged around $370. Gaga's tour, meanwhile, had 52 stops, offering more shows for a lower price of around $200 per ticket.

During the midyear period, Gaga performed in the U.K., Europe, Australia, Japan and the U.S.

The tour, which ran from July 2025 to April 2026, concluded with an overall gross of around $363 million, making it one of the 10 biggest tours ever by a female artist.

Instead of a standard concert film, though, Gaga recently released an Apple Music film documenting a special one-night-only performance in LA. During the show, she performed songs from her MAYHEM album in a completely different way than she did on the tour.

Fans clamor for Black Eyed Peas reunion after Fergie appears at AMAs

Black Eyed Peas are winners of the best throwback song award at the 52nd American Music Awards, from the MGM Grand Las Vegas, on Monday, May 25, 2026. (Francis Specker/CBS)

Fergie unexpectedly showing up at the American Music Awards to accept an award with her Black Eyed Peas bandmates has fans of 2000s pop in their feelings — and begging for a reunion.

Fergie officially left BEP in 2018, and since then, the group has carried on with singer J. Rey Soul in her place. Will.i.am, Taboo and Apl.de.ap remained friendly with Fergie, but the group's appearance as a quartet on the AMAs was the first time they'd been publicly seen together in years.

After the group's 2010 single "Rock That Body" won the best throwback song award on Monday night, the group posted footage of the moment, alongside the caption, "From 2010 to 2026, the energy never stopped. It’s crazy to see how this song keeps moving through time, from the era it came out to a whole new generation rocking with it today."

In the comments, fans called for Fergie to rejoin the group. "FERGIE, PLEASE COME BACK TO THE BEP. WE ALL NEED THIS!!!" wrote one. "WE NEED FERGIE BACK TO BEP," wrote another.

"My heart is melting seeing u all together again," read a third comment. "Come back and rock that body, Fergie Ferg!" a fourth fan wrote.

On Fergie's Instagram account, another fan penned, "This four together could make the world a happier place again."

Other comments included, "PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER ALBUM TOGETHER OMFG," "We need them back," and "Who else waiting for the announcement of WORLD TOUR in Fergie’s speech."

When Fergie initially left the group, will.i.am said she wanted to focus on being a mother to her son, Axl Jack Duhamel, who she shares with her ex-husband, Josh Duhamel. She shouted out Axl in her acceptance speech Monday night.

Among the hits featured on those albums: "I Feel Love," "Love to Love You Baby," "Hot Stuff," "Bad Girls," and "Dim All the Lights."

Music notes: Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and more

Miley Cyrus has many pets, including dogs, cats and horses, but she just added a new one to her menagerie. According to Wags and Walks, a nonprofit animal rescue group, Miley adopted a 20-year-old tortoise named Teru from them. "When we heard that @mileycyrus was hoping to adopt a tortoise, we knew we had to help make the connection happen. After a little coordination, the stars aligned, and Teru officially found his forever home with Miley," the charity wrote on Instagram, sharing photos of Miley feeding her new pet.

Olivia Rodrigo has already released two videos for songs from her upcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, but she's apparently filmed another one. She was photographed during the shoot standing on a New York City street while surrounded by dancers in pink tutus.

Ariana Grande is releasing her new single, "hate that I made you love me," on Friday, and so far all we've heard from it are some electronic bleeps and bloops. But on Tuesday she shared what seems to be a lyric from the song. She posted a photo of herself and captioned it, "cause i barely tried."

KATSEYE's performance at the American Music Awards gave fans a preview of what to expect on their upcoming WILDWORLD TOUR, but it may be hard to get tickets. The trek, which will see the group playing in the U.K., Europe and North America, sold out in just 48 hours. Shows were added in London, New York, LA and Mexico City, but those have also sold out. The tour launches Sept. 1 in Dublin, Ireland.

Bruno Mars shares live video of 'Risk It All'

Bruno Mars, The Romantic Tour (Live Nation)

Bruno Mars is giving fans a look at his current The Romantic tour.

He's released a live video performance of his single "Risk It All," which was filmed on tour. Since it's the first song in his set, the video shows the curtain rising to reveal Bruno standing alone onstage, with a huge sign reading "The Romantic" hanging above him. As he sings the song, a video animation of a stained glass window appears behind him.

After he hits a long note, he says, "Ladies and gentlemen, The Hooligans." The lights come up and another curtain opens to reveal his band and a full horn section, who join him for a bit. As the song ends, the lights go down again, the curtain closes and Bruno is standing alone onstage once again.

While Bruno didn't attend Monday's American Music Awards, he ended up winning three trophies: best male R&B artist, best R&B song for "I Just Might" and best R&B album for The Romantic. The tour continues Wednesday in Toronto, Canada.
