Which artists do British bookies have as the favorites to play the Royal Wedding?

Matt Baron/ShutterstockPrince Harry and Meghan Markle will tie the knot this weekend, and we still don’t know if any famous pop stars will be performing at the event. But that hasn’t stopped the British public from betting on who may be there to serenade the happy couple Sunday.

U.K. bookmakers William Hill are offering odds on the stars most likely to make appearances at the Royal Wedding. The favorite, to no one’s surprise, is Elton John, a friend of Harry’s and a longtime friend of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.

While William Hill says odds are 1/2 that Elton will sing, he’s repeatedly claimed that he hasn’t even received an invitation, let alone a request for a performance. Then again, he was supposed to perform in Las Vegas this weekend but canceled his shows a while back, freeing up his schedule just in case.

If Elton isn’t the wedding singer, maybe his protégé will be. Ed Sheeran is the second-favorite Royal Wedding performer at 3/1 odds. However, he has a gig in Dublin, Ireland on Sunday, so it’d be a bit tricky for him to do both things on the same day.

Coldplay is the third favorite for a wedding performance, at 6/1 odds, followed by British R&B singer Joss Stone at 8/1. Ellie Goulding, Adele, James Blunt and Sir Paul McCartney are all at 10/1 odds, while The Spice Girls, who were rumored to appear earlier this year, are currently 20/1.

It’s worth noting that these sorts of bets are usually not legal in the U.S., so unfortunately, if you live in America, you can’t go to William Hill’s website and put all your money on Adele.
