Quentin Tarantino "stunned and heartbroken" by accusations against longtime collaborator Harvey Weinstein
“For the last week, I’ve been stunned and heartbroken about the revelations that have come to light about my friend for 25 years Harvey Weinstein. I need a few more days to process my pain, emotions, anger and memory and then I will speak publicly about it.”
Harvey and Bob Weinstein’s former production company, Miramax, was integral to Tarantino’s success. Their company produced his first theatrical film, Reservoir Dogs, and went on to produce True Romance, which Tarantino wrote, as well as Pulp Fiction — for which Quentin shared a best screenwriting Oscar win with Roger Avary — and Jackie Brown, the Kill Bill movies, and the Grindhouse double-feature.
Miramax’s successor, The Weinstein Company, produced Tarantino’s Oscar-winning Inglorious Basterds, as well as Django Unchained, and co-distributed the Oscar-nominated Western The Hateful Eight.
