Celine Dion Marks 200th Performance of Vegas Show Tonight, Announces Add’l Dates
Celine Dion‘s first Las Vegas show, A New Day, ran for 700 performances. Her current show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Celine, is getting up there: Tuesday night marks its 200th performance, and there’s no sign of it stopping anytime in the future.
Celine has just announced 31 additional performances of the show, including a New Year’s Eve show on December 31, 2014. These new shows go on sale starting June 21 at 10 a.m. PT.
Here are the new dates:
Dec. (2014): 30, 31
Jan. (2015): 2, 3, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 24
Feb. (2015): 24, 25, 27, 28
March (2015): 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22
Celine’s husband and now former manager Rene Angelil had told the Las Vegas Sun that his plans are to extend the current show through 2019. The paper reports that Angelil, who is battling throat cancer, underwent additional surgery this year, and during his recuperation, Celine offered to cut back on her appearances and shows to lessen the stress on him. Instead, Angelil decided to step down as her manager, a decision which was made public last week
